Torqued engine mount bolts & installed oil cooler

Pulled the engine back out to clean up chips on the oil cooler bracket per KAI Section 46-08. Torqued all four mount bolts to 350 in-lb per Lycoming SSP-1776. Oil cooler installed with new AN815 fittings, checked for interference through full elevator travel — clear. Safety wired per 43.13-1B ¶ 7-130. Supervising A&P witnessed torque and safety wire pattern.

Baffle fabrication complete — both sides fitted

Baffles cut, trimmed, drilled, dimpled, primed. Left side fit on first try, right side needed about 3/16" trimmed off the aft rib ramp to clear the inter-cylinder fin. Rubber seal material (Van's part U-708) glued in place with 3M Super 77. Left overnight to cure before installing air filter snorkel.

Ordered Vetterman crossover exhaust with heat muff, tailpipes, and slip joints. PO VE-26-8814. ETA 6 weeks. Will pause engine installation until exhaust arrives to avoid multiple fits.

Engine out of crate, preserved per Lycoming SL-180B, hoisted via the prop flange fixture. Hung with four rubber biscuits and dynafocal mounting bolts torqued and safety-wired. This registers the engine S/N as a first-class component on the airframe graph — its hour tracking will begin at first engine start.
